What if you fell and hit your head and lost the last ten years of your life? Well, that’s exactly what happens to Alice Love when she tumbles off the treadmill and then has zero idea why she (who despises gyms!) would be on a treadmill in the first place! Alice believes that she is a 29-year-old newlywed, pregnant with her first child, who just bought her first fixer-upper home with her adoring husband Nick. In reality, Alice is a 39-year-old soon to be divorcée, with three kids and living the uppity lifestyle she once mocked in her twenties. Every day brings a new twist as Alice struggles to regain her memories as well as reconcile the old Alice she once loved with the new Alice everyone seems to dislike. If you ever have sat back and wondered how your life changed so much without realizing it – this book is for you. It’s fast and funny and often makes you think about the lives we create for ourselves. Liane’s other books are 3 Wishes and The Last Anniversary.
Good book. I couldnt put it down. This book makes you thinks about life.
A wonderful book! Makes you think about how quickly time passes and how things change so gradually that you end up in a foreign place without knowing how you got there. Will search out more titles from this author.
I really enjoyed this book. It made me think over my last 10 years and all the things that have happened in my life, and to my family... I have requested her other 2 adult novels, and will recommend this book to my friends. (Miles better than a Harlequin romance!)
okay book, happy ending!
I loved this book! If you're getting tired of heavy reads and need something light, this is the book for you. Makes you think about what would happen to you if you lost 10 years of memories with your loved ones. Makes you want to go give them a hug! :)
Everybody, even the septuagenarians in the retirement home, ends up happy, in love, and in a committed relationship. Just like in real life! If you enjoy Harlequin romances, you'll like this. Otherwise, don't waste your time.
"Time Flies Employing the old amnesia trick from countless novels and films, Liane Moriarty's What Alice Forgot (Amy Einhorn) centers on a woman who goes to the gym, hits her head, and loses all memory of the past decade, which was apparently quite eventful: While Alice wakes up thinking she's 29, deliriously happy in her marriage and newly pregnant, in fact she's a 39-year-old mother of three in the midst of a hideous divorce. What happened? Alice tries to piece it together with the help of her sister, whose own past is so riddled with loss that she might welcome some amnesia herself. Funny and knowing, especially about the details of domesticity, this agile novel is also a light-handed look at what we choose to remember, and fight to forget." — Sara Nelson
Wonderful book, fresh style, I loved the way the listener knows what a number of characters were thinking and feeling, and how the bits and pieces of information are woven through out the story to complete the mystery. Lots of real life situations covered in a fun and interesting way. Great audio to listen to, I enjoyed the voice of the narrator.
