Summary
Add a SummaryThe rule was simple: If they wanted to watch "MacGyver," they had to memorize their scriptures for the week. This is the story of how Tim Tebow, his brothers, sisters, parents, and a dog named "Otis" grew up together, and how Tim's career took off from the time he was a little kid, all the way through his choice over where to play college football (the Gators won) to his being a first-round draft pick by the Denver Broncos. This is his life through his eyes: his home-schooling, his faith, his work-outs, how he views sports and competition. Great book, even for those who are not great football fans. Also, you got to know, that he had an uphill battle in getting coaches to let him play quarterback, ("wrong physique," he was told, "too athletic"). First sophomore to win the Heisman trophy. Great book. Audiobook version is read byTom Wayland, who does a fine job. ~ 10 hours long. The story is compelling, and the time goes fast.
Quotes
Add a Quote"Mr. Tebow, your child is a miracle baby. I can't explain how it happened, but despite all odds, he beat them. Only a small part of the placenta was attached, but it was just enough to keep your babay nourished all these months." --What the attending physician at Tim's birth told his father.
"My dad says that I wasn't much fun to throw with, even at age four. Apparently, even then I was a bit too intense and threw pretty hard." Tim Tebow on his early years.

Tim Tebow's AudioBook: "Through My Eyes"; Tim's Super Bowl Commercial 2010
This is the Super Bowl video that caused a furor before it was shown--with groups hollering against it, assuming that since Tim Tebow's mother was told to abort Tim, that it would be about abortion. Tebow, one of the great college quarterbacks of all time, wrote (with the help of Nathan Whitaker) "Through My Eyes" to help set the record straight about his growing up and life. In his book, Tim mentions this commercial he made with his Mom. The audiobook of "Through My Eyes" contains the complete text (minus photos) of the book, and is read by Tom Wayland. This is Football Folks: Even for those who (gasp) Don't Like Football. Tim Tebow also started the Tim Tebow Foundation, at http://www.timtebowfoundation.org/ . His Web site is www.timtebow.com, and he's on Twitter and Facebook. Besides the audiobook, "Through My Eyes" is also in large print, regular, and e-book versions.

Add a CommentTim Tebow loves football. Born in the Philippines to a father who prayed for him by name before "Timmy" was conceived, his mother was told to abort him. She didn't. This is the story of how a home-schooled young boy who couldn't figure out what it meant to say sports are just about having fun (winning counts too, Tim always said) grew up, and got famous. Along with that fame, were a lot of other people trying to tell his story, and not always doing a great job of it. So Tebow wrote this book, to tell his story, to set the record straight. His family, his upbringing, his games are detailed along with the bedrock of his life, which is his faith. This is the guy whose "John 3:16" in the black under his eyes worn during a game led to that verse of the New Testament being Googled over 94 million times. Tim's a cool kid and a great athlete with a big heart, and a solid faith. Available in book, large print book, e-book, and audiobook editions. This audiobook edition is unabridged--has everything but the photos. Read by Tom Wayland, who does a fine job; no weird vocal mannerisms. ~ 10 hours, on 8 CDs. Like the book, it's "Dedicated to all those who've been told they couldn't achieve their dreams." With the Gators, Tim became a two-time NCAA National Football Champ. He's the first sophomore to earn the Heisman Trophy, twice the Maxwell Award winner, got the Davey O'Brien Award for best college quarterback and also the James E Sullivan Award for most outstanding amateur athlete in any sport.
